Trump Unveils U.S. Crypto Reserve Featuring XRP, ADA, SOL

On March 2, 2025, former U.S. President Donald Trump revealed plans for a U.S. Crypto Reserve, selecting XRP, Solana (SOL), and Cardano (ADA) as key cryptocurrencies. Notably, Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) were not included, leaving many in the crypto community surprised. Trump made the announcement on Truth Social, stating that the initiative aims to support the crypto industry, which he claims has faced corrupt attacks under the Biden administration.

This concept was first introduced in an Executive Order from January 2025, where Trump directed the Presidential Working Group to explore the possibility of a national crypto reserve. While the order did not officially establish the reserve, Trump continuously advocated for it throughout his 2024 election campaign.

Meanwhile, Senator Cynthia Lummis has been advocating for a Bitcoin Reserve, and some individual U.S. states have also discussed launching their own crypto reserves. However, none of these efforts have seen significant progress.

Trump is further strengthening his commitment to cryptocurrency by organizing a crypto summit at the White House on March 8, 2025. This groundbreaking event will bring together prominent figures from the crypto sector and government officials to discuss the future of digital assets. David Sacks, a renowned venture capitalist, will serve as the event’s crypto czar, while Bo Hines, the executive director of the Presidential Working Group, will oversee its organization.

Beyond his crypto initiatives, the Trump Organization recently filed for a trademark on the name “TRUMP” on February 24, 2025. This suggests potential digital ventures, including a Trump-branded metaverse featuring virtual stores and online restaurants.

With these strategic moves, Trump aims to position the U.S. as a global leader in the cryptocurrency sector, fueling further excitement in the market.
